Privacy Policy
LIFE/CTRL (“the App”) is an app for building the pattern of your day, provided by graff (“the Developer”). The App respects your privacy. This policy explains what information the App handles and how.
1. Information we use
What you create: parts, day patterns, calendar assignments, TODOs and alarm settings are stored only on your device. They are used to show your board and widgets and to ring alarms. Except for CTRL’s cloud processing described in “2. Communication” below, they are not sent to the Developer’s servers or anywhere else.
App settings: display settings such as showing or hiding graphs and the first day of the week are stored only on your device.
Link with LIFE/CLCT: if LIFE/CLCT is on the same device, the App reads, from a storage area shared by both apps on the device, the title, type and thumbnail of only those items you chose to “Use in LIFE/CTRL” in LIFE/CLCT. A part stores only the ID of that item. The App never writes to LIFE/CLCT and does not send this to the Developer’s servers or anywhere else.
Personally identifiable information: the App does not collect your name, email address, phone number, location or contacts. There is no account registration.
2. Communication
CTRL input: on devices that support Apple Intelligence, text you enter in CTRL is first interpreted on the device. Only when Apple Intelligence is unavailable, or the device cannot fully interpret it (for example when you ask for several changes at once), and only if you have agreed, the text you entered and a short exchange needed to confirm it are sent through a server run by the Developer to Google (Gemini) and used to classify what you asked. Your parts list, internal IDs and calendar contents are not sent. If you include personal information in your text, it is sent as well. The Developer’s server does not record what you enter. You can withdraw your agreement at any time under “Permissions” in the menu. To prevent misuse, Apple’s device attestation (App Attest) is used.
Place search: only when you tap “Search” for a part’s place, the search term is sent to Apple Maps search. When you tap “Go”, the place text is passed to the Maps app.
The App does not include any SDK that sends crash reports, nor any analytics tool of the Developer’s own.
3. Ads and purchases
The App shows no ads and uses no advertising SDK.
There are no in-app purchases. As no purchases are processed, no payment information is handled.
The App uses no software development kits (SDKs) provided by third parties.
4. Storage and deletion
What you create is stored on your device. The App and its widgets share the same storage area.
If you have iCloud Backup or computer backups turned on, the contents stored on your device are included in those backups. This is standard iOS behaviour, and the Developer cannot see their contents.
Choosing “Reset to the beginning” in the in-app menu deletes what you created and returns the App to its initial state. In case of a mistake, the state just before the reset is kept on the device, one copy only, and can be restored with “Restore from before the reset”. This copy is replaced or deleted the next time you reset or restore. It is never sent off the device.
Uninstalling the App deletes the data stored in the App.
5. Permissions
Alarms: to ring alarms at the start of a block or at a time you set (iOS 26 or later).
This permission is used only to ring alarms on the device. Alarm times and the names shown on alarms are only passed to iOS on the device and are never sent off it. If you do not allow it, every feature other than alarms is still available. You can change the permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Face ID / Touch ID: to confirm it is you before resetting or restoring.
Authentication is performed by iOS on the device, and the App receives only whether it succeeded. The App never collects, stores or sends face or fingerprint information. If neither is available, your iPhone passcode is used.
The App does not request any other permissions (camera, photos, location, contacts, etc.).
6. Sharing with third parties
The Developer does not collect what you create or your settings. This information is never provided or sold to third parties or used for advertising. However, if you agree to CTRL’s cloud processing, the text you enter is sent to Google for classification as described in “2. Communication” above.
